Ice Genie is a compact ice cream maker that saves space in the freezer by replacing the traditional ice cube trays. Does it really work? Here’s my review of Ice Gin.

Ice Genie is a simple two-chamber ice cream maker that can contain up to 120 ice cubes. The official website of the product is geticegenie.com, which was registered in February 2018. The screenshot below shows what the product page looked like in April 2018.

The cost of Ice Gin is $19.99 + $4.99 for shipping and lodging for a total of $24.98. There is an additional double application for a separate fee of $9.99. This brings the total to $34.97. At the time of writing this article, the ice machine was not commercially available.
Assessment of the ice technique
As someone who regularly makes ice cubes in ice cube trays, a product like Ice Genie is my thing. It is a product with which you can easily make ice cream in a compact design. Ice Genie has a cylindrical design and a removable inner cover that allows you to create an ice charge while keeping the center free of liquid. Once your block of ice is ready, you can remove the sleeve and press the sides of the flexible cylinder to break the ice. You can then keep the existing ice in the middle while creating another one. The Ice Engineering can store up to three batches of ice at a time, which corresponds to approximately 120 ice cubes. The included lid helps protect the ice cream from odours when stored in the freezer. The cubes Ice Genie produces are smaller than most standard ice cubes. Another application of ice engineering is to cool the bottles by keeping the continuous outer layer of ice in place while inserting the inner sleeve.
Although the publicity as owner of Ice Genie is impressive, I would like to say that there are a few caveats you might want to consider before investing in this product. Let’s start with the good news. Functional, Ice Genie works on the way advertising is done. I noticed that no liquid was spilled in the central chamber and that the ice that formed after it was taken out of the freezer could easily be torn off at the sides. I also like the fact that there is a lid in the freezer that prevents the ice cream from taking on the taste and smell. But that ends here for me.
As for the warnings I mentioned earlier, there are several. As soon as you take the Ice Gin out of the freezer, you have to press the sides together so the ice comes from the central chamber to remove it. It turned out to be more difficult than expected and requires much more manual force than conventional ice cube trays. Moreover, the amount of water in the Ice Genie is only about 6 ounces, which is not a lot of ice. For example, the three Ice Genie batches will produce about 18 ounces of ice cream, while my three standard ice cube bins will produce 30 ounces in one batch.
Finally, I don’t think this thing produces enough ice to justify the extra time and effort. Don’t forget to watch all my videos below to see how ice genius worked (or didn’t work) for me.

There is nothing like Ice Genie on the market, but there are other interesting ways to make ice cream. At the bottom of the spectrum, you can get these easy-to-remove ice cubes with lids for about $13. However, if you want the ice cream on a completely different level, this counter ice cream machine is very efficient and can pump about a pound of ice per hour.
